Why composites: By using C-GRID® carbon fibre grid as a shear connector between the inner and outer layers of concrete, CarbonCast High Performance Insulated Wall Panels delivered exterior panels with full composite action and continuous insulation. C-GRID® is the preferred solution for insulated wall panels due to its high strength and low thermal conductivity, resulting in superior energy efficiency compared to traditional metallic connectors.
C-GRID™ required less concrete cover, resulting in lighter structures with a higher strength-to-weight ratio than steel.
Cost
In precast concrete applications, C-GRID™ reduces foundation, shipping, and erection costs, while also enabling faster installation.
Strength
The façade panels met strength requirements and were self-supporting with minimal structural support needed.
Durability
C-GRID™ is a non-corrosive reinforcement, providing excellent resistance to most chemicals and de-icing salts. It does not rust, preventing spalling.
