Why composites:
The use of composites created a functional cladding, providing energy efficiaent shade and a unique, nature inspired aesthetic at a weight unachievable with steel or concrete.
Weight
The façade panels weigh between 18 and 37 kg and are fixed using steel inserts and structural adhesives. This solution is significantly lighter and imposes less structural load than alternatives like concrete.
Cost
The creative design aesthetic and simple installation enabled a striking visual façade without requiring heavy plant equipment.
Strength
The façades meet all structural requirements without adding excessive load or stress to the building.
Durability
Composites are resistant to corrosion and environmental damage, ensuring longevity with minimal degradation over time.
Maintenance
The panels were engineered for low maintenance, with an applied gelcoat providing resistance to UV exposure, rain, and pollution.
